BABY GEAR: THIRTEEN OF THE LATEST UNIQUE, FASHIONABLE AND
PORTABLE FABRIC BABY CARRIERS AVAILABLE AT THE EXCLUSIVE
NYC BABYWEARING BONANZA -- SEVEN CARRIERS WILL BE GIVEN
AWAY IN A FREE RAFFLE.
New York, NY, July 1, 2006 – NYC Attachment Parenting
International (www.attachmentparenting.org) and NYC
Babywearing Group (www.slingsinthecity.com) invite parents
and children to an exclusive, free BABYWEARING BONANZA
Saturday July 22, 2006 from 1-4 pm in the
3rd
floor Epiphany
Library Auditorium* located at 228 E 23rd St (near 2nd
Ave). Thirteen unique and fashionable wrap, Asian-style,
buckle, sling and pouch styles of fabric baby carriers will
be available to test drive with assistance and advice from
a group of sales-free, expert, local parent- users. Seven
carriers and other baby items worth over $800 will be given
away in a free raffle.
The NYC Babywearing Bonanza will demystify and promote the
benefits of babywearing while bringing these rare and
stylish carriers out of obscurity and onto the virtual
runway of NYC streets where parents routinely ogle over and
dish about the latest, most cutting-edge baby gear.
Babywearing Bonanza attendees will learn:
¬ What carrier
styles and fabrics are most comfortable for them
¬ How to wear the
various styles of carriers
¬
Where these
types of carriers can be purchased
¬
Why
babywearing is beneficial and
¬ How to connect
with local babywearing support for assistance and advice
face-to-face and online.
Babywearing has quietly exploded on the urban parenting
scene as the Baby Bjorn has grown in popularity and
accessibility and competitors have entered the market
offering lower priced substitutes.
Lesser known are the few online and offline retailers who
have, with the occasional celebrity endorsement, ignited a
resurgence of interest in ‘alternative’, fabric
baby carriers such as the sling. These retailers offer a
thoroughly modern product with durable and comfortable
styling; exquisite fabrics, color combinations and patterns
and new, convenient features.
A wide variety of relatively unknown alternative-style
carriers have found a popular market with a growing, but
minority group of parents who have taken the time and
effort to search them out. Now the secret is out and NYC
parents are invited to enjoy the next new thing in baby
gear.
